After the multiball update, I decided to work on my alien poker playfield. I found a good used playfield as a part of a "I will repair your bally pcbs deal...".
All wires are cut, all upper parts are removed.
Here you see some wear areas...
This is a very difficult area, let us see what we can make out of it..
There are mylar rings around the bumpers.
First I removed the bumper screws...I used a hammer and a piece of wood from the other side of the playfield..
Mylar is removed (hair dryer) and goo gone, some paint is gone too...
I worked with magic eraser from mr clean (they are availiable here in europe now...).
I used alcohol, not water.
Always amazing the results...
Yes, it is the same playfield...
Next I will clearcoat the playfield.
Clearcoat done, now I will start the touchups...
Before the touchups, I prepare the playfield for the multiball conversion...
I used a jig saw and a forstner driller.
Left Joker area:
First the white color...
Then the gray color...
Black lines done...
With a knife you can "adjust" the inner circle...
A fellow collector in germany has a blade printer. He scaned the specific joker area and printed it.
Black color done...I also overpainted the "alien poker" letters...
Looks really nice I think...
Between the bumpers...
First the yellow color...
Then the gray color...
For the next touchup I need this colander...
Near by the spinner...
Use the brush and put the red color on the playfield, after that use your finger and press the colander on the surface...
Upper Joker area:
First the white color...
Then everything yellow...
And the green paint...
Now we will use scotch tape and the colander....
This area is always worn out...Red color already applied...
Now I will take the playfield to my garage for the final clearcoat...
Final clearcoat done...
I apply additonal mylarspots above the touchup areas.
Red posts are mounted..(The upper playfield border is from a firepower playfield, maybe I will change it back...)..
Here is the old playfield...
Everything is on my cardboard....
Let us screw a little...
This side is finished...
Outhole assmembly (for multiball) is finished...
And here some pictures of the playfield...
Let us play...
