I found another embryon pinball. This pinball has a very nice playfield.
The mylar is quite thick.
It seems that the mylar was applied after the playfield was in use. I found some wear spots under the mylar. There where some bubbles and some dirt under the mylar, so I decide to remove the mylar and clearcoat the entire playfield.
I use goo gone with a syringe and a hair dryer.
Under the large mylar sheet, there are separate mylar piecess around the bumpers and the slingshoots.
Some screws where too long. Some paint where removed when I lift the mylar here.
Removing the mylar around the bumpers where easy...Just take time...
With the left slingshot I have the same "screw" problem, some screws where too long and lift the paint under the mylar.
Here are the "monster" screws...
Every piece of mylar is removed, I did a rought cleaning with goo gone.
This playfield is in extremly nice shape.
I removed the side boarder with a screw driver.
I removed the staples with a hammer and a gripper.
I removed all bumpers and all light sockets (preparation for clearcoat).
Playfield cleaned with magic eraser...
First clearcoat done...
Now the touchups...
Near the left slingshot
Left outlane
Upper rollover star...
Final clearcoat done...
I found an intresting game rom on the mpu board (u2, 2732):
U6 was a normal prom (9332):
This game rom differs from the orginal game rom:
During self test, you hear no sounds (position 4).
The checksum also differs.
embryonp.zip
I mount several mylar pieces.
I have to drill some new holes in the right slingshot assembly, because the existing holes in the wood where too large.
Center area...
Looks much better now...
Looks really cool...
Do you see the touchups ?
Outhole assembly almost finished...
As usual for embryon, the GI and the switch illumination connector is burned...
Everything ready...
Let us play...
(Quite quick the playfield now, in the second play I destroyed one of the upper targets...)...
